There is just something about Nigerian’s being mentioned abroad – and being mentioned and recognised for fashion on the international fashion scene isn’t a small feat. Two weeks after the hugely successful #GTBLagos Fashion and Design Week, the fashion world is still thrilled by the spectacular offerings by some the designers who showcased.
At the #GTBLFDW, fashion lovers were exposed to the very best of fashion trends for spring/summer 2014. In this fashion spotlight feature by Elle.com’s (US site) Tanwi Nandini Islam and from being one of the attendees personally, I can tell you that every featured designer had an amazing collection, one that would make you want to instantly buy every single piece seen on the runway, and would make international buyers go all out for.
So the title ‘7 Designers to Watch From Lagos’ Emerging Fashion Scene’ couldn’t be more apt.

Do read the feature on Elle.com, its quite inspiring for upcoming designers and for established designers that Africa is slowly gaining ground fashionably.
As rightly said by Adebayo Oke-Lawal in the feature, “A lot of times, people have had to tell our stories for us. It’s time that Africa actually speaks for itself.”
